Taylor

Taylor Swift is that rarest of pop phenomena A superstar who managed to completely cross over from the traditional to becoming an enduring popular icon, and sweeping all over the world at the same time. Swift shed her roots in country music as if she was a second skin and showed she had the finest pop sensibility of the time. Swift was the only singer/songwriter who knew how to take the popular zeitgeist out on the road. It was apparent in her early songs, particularly in her neo pay homage towards Tim McGraw. On her second release Fearless (2008), Swift showed a songwriter getting to know herself. Fearless was a huge success worldwide, not only in North America (where it received with six platinum awards for Top Ten Hits Love Story as well as "You Belong with Me") as well as in Canada Australia and the U.K. as well as other nations. Swift was able to consolidate her progress by releasing Speak Now almost two year after. The next three albums she released, Red (2012) 1989 (2004) and Reputation (2017), Swift's popularity grew and she was able to enter a music scene where it was clear that she belonged. Her popularity grew even after she changed her strategy in 2020's more streamlined siblings Folklore (and Evermore) and stayed at the top of the charts.
