Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and entrepreneur for more than twenty years. She has written fifteen books and is the cofounder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is an writer, philanthropist and television host and the owner of The Huffington Post. Her move out of Greece to England aged 16 where she received an MA from Cambridge University in Economics. In her 21st year, she was president of the famed debate club The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign student in the history of Cambridge University to be elected. A conservative syndicated blogger when she graduated, she went on to become the voice of Huffington Post. The fame of her name helped by attracting a variety of high-profile contributors to post their views on politics news and culture. Arianna's fame started in 2003, after she was a candidate for an independent in the California recall election to succeed the then governor Davis. Additionally she was the leader of the Detroit Project to develop fuel efficient cars. In 2009 she was named by Forbes as the most influential women in media gaining 12th position on their list and in the same year Guardian named her to the top 100 of media lists. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her president of the media group that also includes the other AOL properties such as Engadget AOL Music Style list and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is a daughter of Konstantinos a management advisor and a journalist. Although she had a close relationship with both of her parents but it was their connection that helped shape her. She was a leader even in her early years. In the year she turned sixteen, she left the United States to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. While in college she was a member of the Cambridge Union's debate societies in the college which she later became the first female and foreign president. In 1972, she graduated with the degree of Master in Economics. After graduation, she began working as a critic for a newspaper column and as a host on television. She appeared alongside Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she began to write her own books with his assistance.
