Lisa Edelstein (born Lisa Edelstein) is an American actor best known for playing House in Fox's medical drama House. After being raised by conservative Jews in Wayne, New York City was the place she went to pursue her studies in acting at Tisch. She was soon involved in the club scene, creating enough controversy to attract the media's attention. She then used her background and fame and her own education to write and host a television show titled Positive Me. Soon after, she was offered a job at MTV and was the host of Awake in the Wild Side. Once it went off the air, she began appearing in TV and films at first in small roles and gradually established herself as an actor.
